The 3 Body Solution/Why Life Feels Hard (And How to Change It)

Why Life Feels Hard (And How to Change It)

Physical Wellness Essentials

The 90% Rule

I live by what I call the 90% rule, especially during vacations. This means I eat clean and healthy 90% of the time, allowing guilt-free indulgence during special occasions. On vacation, I can enjoy cookies, dark porter beer, and cheesy appetizers without worry.

Here's why I advocate for this rule:

Flexibility and Enjoyment: Life is about enjoyment, and sometimes food is meant to be savored. When you take care of yourself most of the time, occasional indulgences won’t harm your health or body.

Body Awareness: During these indulgent times, like my current stay in Maui, I’m reminded of how my body feels when consuming less nutritious foods. It's a fun experience, but it often leads to inflammation from sugary carbs. This makes me wonder how many people live feeling inflamed daily.

Nutritional Benefits: Eating fresh, additive-free, and unprocessed foods helps our bodies function smoothly. When we consume the right amount for our energy needs, our bodies don’t need to work overtime to process excess junk.

Ultimate Food Freedom: Understanding how food makes you feel is key. When you realize we eat for energy, not just enjoyment, you can focus on foods that make you feel good 90% of the time.

If you find yourself inflamed from poor eating habits, a short reset cleanse can clear your body of toxins, giving your liver and kidneys a much-needed break. I’ll be starting a post-Hawaii cleanse next week! If you want to join me, send me a message.

By adopting the 90% rule, you can enjoy life’s pleasures while maintaining overall wellness. Try it out and feel the difference!

Mind Mastery Techniques

Hard is a Mindset

If you often feel like life is "hard," this article might be eye-opening. Every day, in every way, we adopt a mindset or set of beliefs about various aspects of life—whether it’s work, raising kids, or finding time for the gym. Essentially, we are winning at the game we’re playing based on our chosen mindset.

Think about it: if you believe things are hard, they will be. "Hard" is a mindset we've created and reinforced over time. But guess what? "Easy" is also a mindset. When you choose to believe that things are easy, they actually become easier. Yes, mindset is that powerful.

Many of us fall into the trap of viewing everything as difficult. We feel like the universe is unfair or the odds are stacked against us. When you have this belief, your environment will support it.

If this resonates with you, I have one suggestion: the next time you’re tempted to label something as hard, try adopting a different mindset. Even if it feels inauthentic at first, tell yourself, "This is easy," or "I’ve got this!" Repeat it as a mantra. You might be surprised at how things shift.

Remember, believing things are easy can make them easier. You might just find yourself without the excuse of life always being hard!

Balancing Your Emotional Well-Being

Follow Your Heart

We often hear phrases like "follow your heart" or "lead from your heart." Over the years, my understanding of these phrases has evolved, and I believe I finally grasp their true meaning.

First, let's clarify what it's not. Consider the two parts: "leading or following" and "from the heart." When we don't lead or follow our heart, we act from places of insecurity, fear, doubt, or resentment. Essentially, we need to ask ourselves: are we acting out of fear or out of love? For instance, there was a point in my career where I felt trapped in my job solely because of the paycheck and the years of experience invested. I was driven by fear and insecurity.

Once you let go of fear and resentment, you can begin to truly follow your heart. What is it that you genuinely care about? Whether you’re a factory worker or a CEO, find what makes your heart happy and let your actions reflect that. Maybe it's helping others, ensuring people feel safe, or inspiring self-belief in those around you. Whatever it is, when led from your heart, you cannot go wrong.

"Leading or following" is all about direction. Whether you lead a team or work independently, your actions, purpose, motives, and words are all connected to this direction. The more actions you take from your heart center, the better off the world will be.
