Hello Healthy Souls!
Welcome to the inaugural edition of The 3 Body Solution - Prana Edition! Prana, our life force, is the essence that fuels our vitality, encompassing energy, chi, ki, qi, and more. Every Friday, our focus will delve into the realms of physical, mental, and emotional health through the lens of prana. Whether you're new to the concept or well-versed, my goal is to deepen everyone's understanding of prana's pivotal role and how harnessing it can transform our well-being. Thank you for joining me on this enlightening journey.
Prana, our life force, permeates every aspect of existence. As Eckhart Tolle eloquently puts it in "A New Earth," life force is the vibrant energy field pulsating within us, beyond our physical form. By simply closing our eyes and tuning into our inner body, we can connect with this profound aliveness. Prana isn't confined to our bodies; it's omnipresent, coursing through the natural world, from food to sunlight. Though invisible, its influence is undeniable, shaping our health and happiness. The beauty lies in our ability to harness this divine force for our well-being.

Every bite we take holds energy, a vital essence that sustains us. Whether it's a leaf of lettuce or a slice of steak, all food originates from nature's bounty. While the journey of a tomato from vine to plate is apparent, processed foods conceal their origins behind layers of additives and preservatives.
Plants, akin to us, thrive on sunlight, water, and care. They pulsate with life force, an energy we too derive from our sustenance. Fresh, unprocessed foods retain this vitality, providing us with essential nutrients and life-supporting Prana.
Imagine plucking a ripe apple from the branch, its vibrant hues and crispness signaling its vitality. Yet, as time passes, its life force diminishes, much like a flame slowly extinguishing. Similarly, processed meats lose their vitality once removed from the animal, becoming mere shadows of their former selves.
Our bodies, intricate machines of energy, depend on this life force for sustenance. Hence, choosing foods rich in prana is paramount for our well-being. Consider the journey your food takes from farm to table, opting for freshness whenever possible to nourish your body and soul.
While perfection eludes us, conscious choices can lead us toward optimal health. Let's embrace the vibrancy of fresh, wholesome foods, infusing our lives with vitality and well-being.
Many of us, myself included, grapple with criticism, both directed inwardly and outwardly. Critiquing others, whether out of habit or for amusement, often feels like a natural aspect of our lives. It's a behavior ingrained in many from childhood, reinforced by societal norms that seemingly encourage judgment. But perhaps, it's not entirely our fault.
Thoughts, much like food, possess prana—an energetic life force. We hold the power to either nurture or extinguish the life of a thought. This realization empowers us as the captains of our minds, capable of steering our thoughts rather than being at their mercy.
Energetically, criticism originates from the analytical mind. When we engage in criticism, it typically involves a flurry of thoughts, often accompanied by emotions. Consider a scenario where your mind is consumed by intense concentration on a task; an interruption from a partner or colleague is more likely to trigger an instinctive critical response. This knee-jerk reaction can feel beyond our control.
The silver lining is our ability to curb this tendency through awareness. By acknowledging the correlation between intense thinking and heightened criticism, we pave the way for change. Over time, we develop the discernment to recognize critical impulses and their underlying causes. Armed with this awareness, we gain the power to diminish criticism in our lives, fostering greater inner peace and self-love.
When was the last time you gave your emotions a workout? I'm not talking about therapy sessions; I mean exercising them like you would a muscle. Emotions, much like physical muscles, require regular activity to stay healthy. Whether you realize it or not, you're constantly engaging your emotions. The real question is: are you strengthening positive emotions or inadvertently becoming a bodybuilder of negative ones like anger, hatred, depression, or fear?
Every lower emotion has a counterpart in higher emotions. For instance, love is the antithesis of anger, and courage counteracts fear. Emotions, akin to thoughts, possess an energetic essence. Just as planting and nurturing an apple seed yields an apple tree, our emotional experiences shape the emotions we cultivate. Many of us have default emotional responses that we chalk up to being intrinsic parts of our personality. However, the truth is that we've been conditioning these energetic life forms called emotions throughout our lives, shaping them into what they are today.
The solution lies in exercising different emotional muscles. Admittedly, it's challenging to summon a smile and project love, kindness, and compassion when engulfed in anger. But, with practice, these new emotional muscles grow. Transforming from an angry person to someone who exudes calm and kindness overnight isn't feasible. It requires consistent effort. So, the next time you feel anger, or any emotion that doesn't suit you, brewing inside you, acknowledge it. Simply say to yourself, "I'm feeling [fill in the blank]," or jot it down. Then, grant yourself a five-minute break to sit with the emotion. As you allow yourself to experience it fully, its intensity diminishes. Once it subsides, you gain the power to choose a different emotional response, such as forgiveness or empathy towards the person or situation. Over time, negative emotions will lose their grip, leaving you with robust emotional muscles that radiate love, joy, and vitality—for yourself and those around you.
