Did you know you don’t need a personal trainer, tons of fitness books, or even a gym membership to get in shape? In fact, all you need is something you likely already have—your smartphone! Exercise can feel tricky, especially when your body gets used to the same old routine and hits a "plateau." Instead of giving up, you can now easily shake things up and "confuse" your body for better results.
Enter artificial intelligence. No, I’m not suggesting you spend $30K on an AI robot to be your trainer. Instead, sign up for a free ChatGPT account and let it guide you. If you haven’t embraced AI yet, this is your moment! It can be an incredible tool for designing a custom workout routine that fits your needs.
Here’s how it works: After signing up, just ask ChatGPT for a workout based on what you have available. For example, I recently asked:
"Assume the role of [insert favorite fitness personality] and create a 45-minute shoulder workout using DTP principles, considering the following equipment: dumbbells, barbell, TRX, bench, squat rack, high pulley, yoga ball, and bodyweight."
That’s it! You can customize it however you want—no equipment? No problem. Want a yoga routine just for calves? Just ask. Training for a 10K? ChatGPT can plan that too.
There’s really no excuse not to have a workout routine anymore. If you need help with prompts or ideas, reach out—I’m happy to guide you!
Give it a try and discover the endless possibilities!
You've probably heard the word mantra before. While rooted in spiritual tradition, particularly in Hinduism, mantras have made their way into our everyday lives in simple, relatable ways. Remember George Costanza’s "Serenity Now!" from Seinfeld? Even Master Stephen Co's humorous "Om, whatever, om" shows that mantras don’t have to be in Sanskrit to be powerful.
Mantras act as a gatekeeper for the mind. When your thoughts are running wild, a mantra can break the mental cycle, just as George did with his mantra. Today, I want to share a simple mantra that can be applied to every aspect of your life—one that can help you discover inner peace and fulfillment. It’s just three letters, and they’re all the same: E.E.E.
"E.E.E." stands for Ease, Energy, and Enjoyment. This mantra is a tool to measure everything in your life—your career, relationships, hobbies—against these three elements. If something doesn’t align with ease, energy, or enjoyment, it may be time to reevaluate.
For example, when I first learned this mantra, I applied it to my career as a data technologist. Math came easy to me, and while data science involved a lot of math, the work didn’t bring me ease. Internally, I was in constant turmoil. Worse, it drained my energy, leaving me tired, frustrated, and unfulfilled. Sure, there were moments of enjoyment, but the work itself didn’t excite me. So I asked: Ease? No. Energy? No. Enjoyment? Not really. The decision to move on became clear.
You can do the same with your relationships. Are you forcing something to work out of obligation or fear? Does it feel easy, or does it bring constant hardship? If it’s not enjoyable, why are you holding on to it? Life is too short for things that drain your soul.
This is personal, and only you can decide what's right for you. Others may not understand your choices, but if something brings you ease, energy, and enjoyment, that’s what matters. Start by observing your daily life. What could be shifted or let go entirely? With honesty and courage, you can align your life with your soul’s purpose.
Everything falls into place when you do.
We often hear about the fear of failure—a common reason people avoid making changes or striving for more. This fear can paralyze us, and often, it's something we keep to ourselves out of shame or fear of judgment. It’s easier to blame external factors like circumstances, upbringing, or politics than to admit we're simply afraid to fail. But did you know that fear of success can be just as, if not more, detrimental to your growth?
On the surface, fear of success seems strange. Who wouldn’t want to be successful? Imagine you dream of becoming a multi-millionaire. Sounds great, right? So why would anyone fear this dream so much that they avoid taking action? Whether we fear failure or success, what we're really avoiding is the discomfort of change.
Fear of success can be especially tricky. If you've come from a background of financial struggle, the idea of becoming wealthy might feel uncomfortable. Perhaps you've spent years resenting the rich, or maybe you're worried about how your family will perceive you if you achieve success. Could it mean losing their connection or their approval? These thoughts can hold you back.
But the truth is, fear is just a feeling. You get to decide which emotions to focus on. When you realize you’re afraid of success, ask yourself: Is this fear based in reality? Likely, it’s not. Your family will probably be happy for your success, and those who truly care about you won’t disappear. If others are uncomfortable with your growth, that’s their issue, not yours.
Letting go of fear is key to becoming the best version of yourself. Imagine how much more you could contribute to your family, friends, and the world if you embraced the changes you desire. The potential to do more is far greater than the comfort of staying stuck.
