Harnessing the Power of the Flower Moon: A Wesak Preparation Guide

Most people know this weekend marks a very special day to celebrate and honor mothers—but did you know that the following day, Monday, May 12th, is one of the most spiritually significant days of the entire year for energy practitioners around the world?

This day aligns with the full moon in May, often called the Flower Moon, and it promises to deliver a powerful surge of healing energy to the planet. If you want to dive into the deeper meaning behind the Wesak Festival, you can read more about that here, but for now I want to share a few simple ways you can make the most of the energy that’s coming.

Full moons amplify energy. They occur when the sun and moon align, creating a powerful wave of both solar and lunar prana that floods the Earth. You may have heard people comment on the wild energy during full moons—whether it’s strange behavior, traffic tension, or emotional spikes. That’s because the energy heightens whatever is already present in the system—especially mental, emotional, and physical states. And since most people run on low-level stress or worry, those energies can easily be amplified. Multiply that by 8 billion people and you’ve got the recipe for collective intensity.

The good news? It usually passes within a few days. The even better news? If you're aware that it’s coming, you can work with it. May 12th is expected to carry the strongest energetic impact of any full moon in 2025. According to Master Choa Kok Sui, during the Wesak full moon there’s a rare and sacred downpour of spiritual energy—a planetary blessing that accelerates healing and spiritual growth for those who are open and receptive. The key is to prepare yourself to receive.

So how can you align with this energy? First, simply be aware. Just knowing that emotions or reactions may feel heightened allows you to respond with compassion instead of confusion. If you notice yourself feeling triggered, anxious, or sensitive—pause and breathe. This might not be “you,” it might just be the collective energy moving through you.

Second, add more self-care and softness to your day. If you're able to, take the day off—or at least part of it—and spend time in nature. Go for a hike, sit under a tree, or take a long walk on the beach. Nature helps absorb and balance energetic overload.

If you’re working on Monday, carve out at least an hour for stillness. The moon peaks at 10:56 AM MST, making it a perfect time to step outside for a quiet walk or a short meditation. If you’ve been meaning to take a break, this is your permission slip.

This full moon also offers a powerful opportunity to let go of something that no longer serves you. We all carry thoughts, habits, or energies we’re ready to release—whether it’s a pattern of self-doubt, a toxic behavior, or even a physical ailment. During this time, set the intention that you’re ready to move on. Visualize what your life would look like without that weight, and invite the energy of this moon to help you clear it.

Master Choa Kok Sui teaches that “life is a series of grasping and letting go.” Wesak is the perfect moment to practice that teaching. Let go of the things you’re clinging to—not with resistance, but with intention. Because when you do, you make space for something far more powerful to flow in.

Whatever you choose to do, the key is awareness. Simply noticing what’s happening in and around you is a powerful first step. If you’d like deeper support or guidance around this time, hit reply—I’d be honored to walk with you through it.

Bless and Let Grow

Bless and Let Grow

How often do you catch yourself saying, “I have to do this,” or “I’ve got so many things I have to do”? If you spend a lot of time in that “have-to” head-space, this article is for you.

First, know that I get it. I’ve long been a have-to person—after all, if I don’t take care of these things, who will? Culturally, many of us are taught that have-to living is simply “the way of the world”: you have to go to college, you have to land a good job, you have to get a mortgage, and on and on. We’re conditioned from the start. The good news? Now is a perfect time to pause, reassess, and liberate yourself from that mindset. Your future self will thank you.

Living in have-to mode is stressful. It breeds overwhelm, burnout, and exhaustion. I’m not saying you should abandon every responsibility; rather, notice the energy you bring to each task. In truth, you don’t have to do anything—there is always another path. I like to ask myself, “What would I do if I didn’t have to do anything?” More often than not, I still choose the same action, but the shift from have to → want to dissolves the stress.

Still skeptical? Picture a typical evening: after a long workday, you glance at your calendar—dinner to cook, soccer practice to drive to, baths to run, a house to tidy. Now imagine you didn’t have to do any of it. Which activities would genuinely spark joy? Maybe cleaning never thrills you, but if a tidy space uplifts your mood, then on some level cleaning does make you happy. The key question is: Am I doing this out of genuine preference, or to meet an expectation (mine or someone else’s)? When it’s the former, shifting your mindset from obligation to choice changes everything.

What we experience externally mirrors the energy we project. An unmanageable schedule often reflects our internal state. Perhaps constant busyness is how we feel seen, or maybe we tie self-worth to perpetual achievement. Some of us have learned that stress brings the attention or support we crave. Whatever the story, the power lies in awareness. Notice each time you feel you have to do something and gently ask, “Why?” That question is the first step toward authentic living—where you do what you want, when you want. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

Balancing Your Emotional Well-Being

A Surprising Way to Dissolve Anger

A Surprising Way to Dissolve Anger

Everyone experiences anger. It’s part of being human. At some point—likely many points—you’ve felt angry at someone in your life. Maybe the anger felt justified. Maybe you believed it was necessary for justice to prevail. And while justice certainly matters, it doesn’t always need to be accompanied—or fueled—by anger.

In a conversation with a friend this week, I was reminded of a simple yet powerful practice for reducing negative emotions triggered by others. Anger and resentment often do more harm to us than to the person who sparked them. They sit in our energetic field, take up space in our thoughts, and weigh heavily on our physical body. It’s like carrying around a handful of mud, ready to throw it at someone you believe deserves it—but somehow, you end up splattered, too.

Here’s the trick: give them a gift.

Yes, really.

Now, I’m not suggesting you track down the random stranger who cut you off in traffic. I’m talking about someone important to you—someone close who, for whatever reason, has you stewing. When you offer a gift, even a small one, you physicalize the energy of peace, goodwill, and forgiveness. You redirect your prana—your life energy—toward healing instead of conflict.

As Master Choa Kok Sui taught, “Where your attention goes, energy flows.” A gift, in this sense, is not just a token. It is an act of energetic redirection. It breaks the circuit of tension and rewires the flow between two people. That flower from your garden? It’s not just a flower—it’s pranic medicine.

This gesture doesn’t have to be grand. It simply needs to be sincere. A small act—delivered with kindness and the intention to clear the air—can immediately soften the invisible, yet tangible, tension between two people. It doesn’t erase the need for accountability or communication. But when those things are preceded by love and generosity, what follows is almost always more productive and compassionate.

So the next time you’re caught in the loop of anger with someone close to you, try giving. You might be surprised by what you receive in return.
