You’ve probably heard people talk about an “aura,” even in casual conversations. Phrases like, “She has a great aura,” or “He gives off a weird vibe” are common, but there’s more to it than that. Beneath those words lies a deeper understanding that connects to the energy all around us—something we can all feel when we tune out our minds and listen to our intuition.
So, what is the aura really? Picture it like this: When I was a kid, my dad dressed up as a gumball machine for Halloween, wearing a giant plastic bag full of colorful balloons. That plastic bag is like your aura—an energy field around you, filled with different "gumballs" that represent your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Everything has an aura—people, animals, trees, even the Earth itself. Your aura reflects your life force, radiating beyond your physical body. When you think positive thoughts or feel joyful emotions, your gumballs are bright, vibrant, and uplifting. But when negative emotions or fears linger, they show up as dark, dingy gumballs, dragging down the energy of your field. Imagine picking a piece of gum from a machine—would you want the beautiful, colorful one, or the rusty, black, lifeless gumball?
The important takeaway is this: You get to choose what fills your aura. Let go of the negativity that dulls your energy and hold onto the positive, uplifting emotions that make your aura glow. Your energy field is yours to shape—choose wisely!Mind Mastery Techniques
Do you find yourself caring too much about what others think of you? It’s okay—you don’t have to admit it out loud. Many of us have been there, living to meet the expectations of a boss, a family member, or a social group. We naturally seek love, connection, and acceptance, which makes us shape our actions around others' opinions. But this can lead us to lose sight of our true selves.
It’s easy to say, “Don’t do that,” but breaking free from this mindset is tough, especially if you’ve spent a lifetime doing it. You might even think of it as politeness, compassion, or serving others. However, we can only serve others well if we first serve ourselves. Living for others’ approval disconnects us from our unique gifts and purpose.
From the perspective of prana (life energy), every thought carries an energy of its own. When you give too much weight to what others think, you’re not just seeking approval—you’re actually "stealing" their thoughts. This is known as mental stealing, a concept often overlooked but rooted in the principle of non-stealing. Just as we understand that stealing physical things is wrong, stealing thoughts should also be avoided.
Each thought is shaped by a person’s life experiences, insecurities, and traumas. Trying to mold your identity around someone else’s thoughts is exhausting and futile. You are responsible for finding peace within yourself, not for gaining external validation. When you live to please others, you betray your own authenticity.
True freedom comes from releasing others’ judgments and focusing on being the best version of yourself—on your own terms. Let go of their thoughts, and you’ll find peace.
Not all memories are perfect, but many are filled with joy. As we age, we collect more and more memories, often cherishing the ones that make us feel good. Moments from childhood, love, marriage, or the birth of our children can bring warmth and happiness. However, if we’re not careful, even the most beautiful memories can hold us back.
I’m not saying to forget the past, but we need to be mindful of which memories we cling to. As my teacher once said, life is about “grasping and letting go.” Just like the leaves of a tree fall and regrow, our lives move in cycles. We can get stuck longing for the past, tethered to what was, instead of embracing the present.
Quantum physics now confirms what many who are connected to the spiritual path have always known: time and space are interconnected, meaning every version of ourselves exists at once. This is why we can energetically connect to our past selves. For instance, we may have a fond memory of childhood celebrations that involved excess—whether it was food, sugar, or alcohol. If we’re tethered to the emotions of that memory, we may unconsciously repeat those habits in search of that same bliss, even though they aren't supporting our best, healthiest self.
This subtle but powerful connection shapes how we live today. To truly thrive and live healthily, we need to reflect on what we're tethered to and consciously let go. Awareness leads to transformation. Recognizing how our present actions may be tied to past emotions allows us to break free and create a healthier, more authentic connection with ourselves.
If you're struggling with habits that feel like "part of you," know that they’re not. They’re prana—energy—and you have the power to shape your thoughts, emotions, and actions by breaking free from the chains of the past. By letting go of what no longer serves you, you make space for the real bliss of living in alignment with who you are today.
