The 3 Body Solution/Master Energy Awareness: Transform Your Body, Mind, and Emotions

Master Energy Awareness: Transform Your Body, Mind, and Emotions

Listen to Your Body: Awareness is the First Step to Wellness

Throughout my life, I’ve put my body through the wringer—drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, hangovers, extreme weight loss, grueling workouts to the point of vomiting. I’m not recommending this path; instead, I hope my journey can show you that the middle path is the best path. What I’ve learned is this: your body is always talking. When you learn to listen, you gain the power to notice when something feels off—long before it breaks down completely.

Body Awareness: The Key to Connection

Awareness is simply noticing the body and reflecting on the sensations it sends you. If you have stomach cramps every day after lunch, consider what you’re eating. Is that daily cottage cheese habit no longer sitting well? The body gives us clues; we just need to pause and pay attention.

Preventing Damage with Simple Adjustments

Take another example: eye strain from staring at a screen all day. Without awareness, you might power through, occasionally rubbing your eyes before diving back into work. Over time, this pattern can harm your vision. But if you recognize the early signs of eye fatigue, you can adopt simple habits like regular breaks or using blue-light glasses to protect your eyes.

Why Awareness is Hard (But Necessary)

Many of us have become disconnected from our bodies. Instead of addressing discomfort, we reach for distractions: alcohol for a hangover, another cigarette to calm our nerves, or—tragically—a cycle of increasing drug use just to feel “normal.” These temporary fixes mask the issue but don’t heal it.

Start Here: Listen Without Judgment

It’s time to reconnect. Your body shouldn’t feel like garbage every day. Back pain at 45 isn’t “just aging.” Breathing deeply and exercising without pain is possible. Healing starts with awareness—simply noticing how you feel, without judgment.

Your body has the answers; you just need to start listening.

Mind Mastery Techniques

Awareness: The Game-Changer for Your Mind

If you’ve read any of my articles, you know how much I value mental awareness. It’s the single most important thing we can practice every day, every moment. Why? Because an unchecked, unconscious mind—a mind that we mistake for who we are—can lead to unnecessary pain and confusion.

Take the famous line from Descartes: “I think, therefore I am.” It’s one of the most misleading statements in philosophy. For years, I leaned into it, believing my mind was my superpower, the source of my identity. But here’s the problem: when our minds are untethered, fueled by insecurity or external influences, they create false narratives that don’t serve us.

For example, as a young man, I thought I needed to dress, act, and speak a certain way to attract a partner. My mind ran the show, driven by loneliness and insecurity, and I crafted an entire identity based on these feelings. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.

This pattern doesn’t stop in youth. As adults, we often solidify our thoughts into beliefs and then let those beliefs shape our identities. It’s like deciding you want a Tesla, and suddenly, you see Teslas everywhere—it’s not magic; it’s selective focus. Similarly, our beliefs frame our experiences, and our experiences reinforce those beliefs. Over time, we start saying things like, “This is just who I am.”

But here’s the truth: your thoughts are not you. Your mind’s purpose is to execute the instructions of your soul, not to define your identity. Yet, so many of us let the outside world—our environment, upbringing, or social norms—tell our minds what to build.

When you develop awareness of your thoughts, everything changes.

Start questioning:

  • Where did this belief come from?
  • Why do I feel so strongly about this political stance or lifestyle choice?
  • Why am I holding onto feelings of anxiety, insecurity, or fear?

These thoughts are messengers, waving a flag to draw attention to areas that need healing or change. You don’t have to live in fear, anger, or self-doubt. When you observe and question your thoughts, you create space to dismantle limiting beliefs and replace them with thoughts that empower you.

Awareness isn’t about changing everything overnight. It’s about gently noticing, questioning, and ultimately reshaping your mind to align with your truest self. Start small, stay curious, and watch as your life begins to transform.

Balancing Your Emotional Well-Being

Mastering Emotional Awareness: The Space Between Trigger and Response

Wrapping up our discussions on awareness, today we’re diving into emotional awareness—the ability to "see" our emotions for what they are. Just like mental awareness helps us detach from our thoughts, emotional awareness creates space between feeling triggered and how we choose to respond. That’s the key: creating space.

Whether it’s joy, love, or gratitude, or less pleasant emotions like anger, fear, or frustration, emotions are normal and separate from who we are. They’re what make us beautifully human. But how we respond to these sensations can either empower us or hold us back.

The Default vs. The Power

Our default nature is to chase good feelings and reject the bad. That rejection often shows up as self-criticism, lashing out, or even shutting down. True emotional awareness, however, comes when we realize that emotions don’t control us—we can be more powerful than the fleeting sensations in our body.

Start Noticing

Building emotional awareness begins with observation:

  • Track Your Triggers: Take note of what situations or interactions cause specific emotions, good or bad.
  • Write It Down: Use your phone, a journal, or even a sticky note to jot down what you feel and why.
  • Pause Before Reacting: Writing things down creates a pause, a moment to choose your response rather than react impulsively.

You may not get it perfect every time—it’s a practice. But even the act of noticing puts you in control. Over time, that space grows, and you’ll find yourself responding with intention instead of reaction.

The Power of Emotional Master

We’ve all seen someone handle a difficult situation with grace and calm—it’s almost awe-inspiring. For some, this skill is natural; for most, it’s learned. But the result is the same: less pain, more clarity, and greater peace for you and those around you.

When you become the feeler of your feelings—not a victim to them—you unlock a power that transforms how you move through life. It’s a simple shift, but it’s one that makes all the difference.
