Last week, we explored the importance of gut microbes and their role in overall health. This week, let's dive into a simple yet effective way to boost the health of your gut: celery juice.
Drinking celery juice every morning on an empty stomach is a powerful way to repair and support your gut microbiome. To get the purest form of celery juice without additives, it's best to make it at home using a juicer. While juicers can be a bit tricky to clean, the health benefits you’ll gain from daily celery juice—along with other fresh juices—make it well worth the effort.
According to Anthony William, the Medical Medium, celery juice works wonders for your stomach because it helps restore hydrochloric acid levels, which are crucial for digestion and breaking down food. Celery juice also contains beneficial mineral salts that act as antiseptics, reducing harmful bacteria and toxins in the gut. This natural process helps repair the lining of the stomach and intestines, promoting better absorption of nutrients and overall gut health.
Why Drink Celery Juice on an Empty Stomach?
For the best results, celery juice should be consumed on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. This allows your body to fully absorb its healing nutrients without interference from other foods or drinks. Drinking it on an empty stomach also maximizes its ability to cleanse your digestive tract and prepare it for the day ahead.
Why Start Juicing Celery Every Day?
Incorporating celery juice into your daily routine can significantly improve your digestion, reduce bloating, and increase your energy levels. The natural electrolytes in celery juice provide hydration at a cellular level, which supports all of your body's functions. Plus, it's a great way to kickstart your day with a healthy habit that benefits your entire system.
Natural Energy Boost
Many people find that celery juice gives them a natural energy boost that rivals the jolt they get from a cup of coffee. Unlike caffeine, which can cause energy crashes and disrupt sleep, celery juice offers sustained, steady energy throughout the day. This is because it helps balance your body's pH levels and nourishes your cells with essential nutrients.
So, if you’re looking to improve your gut health and boost your energy naturally, consider starting your mornings with a glass of fresh celery juice. Your gut—and your entire body—will thank you!
As we navigate our busy lives, it's easy to lose sight of activities that bring us joy and boost our well-being, like walking, hiking, or spending time in nature. Often, our "walks" consist of just a short stroll from the parking garage to the office or, if you work from home, from the bedroom to the kitchen. I won’t spend much time advocating for daily walks, but if you aren’t already taking a walk every day, I encourage you to start. Aim for at least 30 minutes of walking each day. This article, however, is all about what to do with your mind while you’re walking.
Step 1: Walk
Great, you’re walking! You might notice how refreshing it is to get some fresh air, soak up a little sunshine, or smile at the ducks swimming in a nearby creek. These pleasant feelings are often fleeting as our minds quickly remind us of everything we have to do or worry about. Why take a walk when you have a looming deadline? The secret is knowing that taking a break to clear your mind can actually make you more productive and focused. So, now that you’re walking, how do you clear your mind? The answer is simple: a color walk.
What Is a Color Walk?
A color walk is a simple yet powerful tool for increasing mindfulness and awareness. Mindfulness—being fully present in the moment—is the key to a healthy mind. It helps you stay in control of your actions, regardless of thoughts about stress, worry, or doubt. Here’s how to do a color walk:
It's natural to feel like you must focus on worries or tasks immediately, but stepping away from these thoughts, even briefly, can have a profound impact on your mood, work, and relationships. Silencing the mind and being present in the moment, even for just 30 minutes, can significantly enhance your overall well-being.
Give it a try! Take a color walk today and enjoy a refreshing break from your busy day and mind.
This version maintains the original tone while providing a clear, concise guide on how to take a color walk and its benefits.
"Why would I drink from a cup that I know is poisoned?" - Master Choa Kok Sui
In the past, we've discussed the concept of looking into the abyss without falling in. This means that while we can observe the negativity that exists in the world—whether it’s from other people, the news, or social media—we don’t have to let it overwhelm us emotionally.
While this is an admirable goal, it's not an easy one. There’s a lot of negativity out there, and most of us aren't equipped to take it all in without being affected on some level. Developing this ability requires time, practice, and a commitment to staying informed and emotionally balanced.
In the meantime, it's also important to recognize that sometimes the best option is simply to avoid staring into the abyss altogether. This idea is perfectly encapsulated in a quote from Master Choa Kok Sui. When a student asked him to read a disparaging email that was sure to be upsetting, Master Choa, with his characteristic wisdom, chose not to read it. His reasoning was simple: "Why would I drink from a cup that I know is poisoned?" If you already know something is going to hurt you, why engage with it?
This lesson can be applied to many areas of life—whether it’s dealing with the news during a contentious political season or managing interactions with a difficult person. Rather than continuously exposing yourself to negativity that causes stress and pain, sometimes the best choice is to simply stop. Don’t open that email, don’t take that call, don’t scroll through social media, and don’t read the news.
While staying informed is important, so is protecting your emotional health. If you're not yet strong enough—and most of us aren’t—to engage with negativity without it triggering an emotional response, it might be a sign to just step back. Protect your well-being. Don’t drink the poison.
