Did you know that your junk drawer, unkempt lawn, or overcrowded pantry could be keeping you from success and feeling your best? When we have clutter in our physical environment, the flow of healthy prana that supports our well-being is slowed, rerouted, or outright blocked.
I grew up loving to rearrange rooms. Like most kids, I didn’t particularly enjoy cleaning my room, but when given the opportunity to move some furniture around for the family, I jumped at the chance. As an adult, I endure a decent amount of ridicule from loved ones when they happen upon yet another new layout in our home—what must seem to them like a perpetual, dynamic waltz of furniture. What I’ve come to realize is that by rearranging furniture, I was unknowingly clearing clutter, cleaning, and improving the flow of energy—a concept I wasn’t aware of as a child but deeply understand now.
Healthy prana is constantly available to us from the air, the ground, and the sun. It is always in motion, but much like a river impacted by a new family of beavers and their dam, if something obstructs its path, prana will simply redirect elsewhere. Now, think about your home and the things you own. Is it cluttered and messy, or organized and clean? Whatever it is, it reflects the quality of energy flowing into your life. Each room has its own unique energy. Perhaps your living area is tidy, but your kitchen is a disaster. If that’s the case, chances are you don’t use your kitchen much, defaulting to takeout or quick meals in the living room—because that’s where the energy flows. We are naturally drawn to spaces where prana moves freely.
This isn’t about perfection or minimalism—both extreme versions of this concept—but instead about progress. If you’re feeling stuck in any area of your life, set aside a few minutes to clean something small. With spring in the air, it’s the perfect time for this. Even cleaning out a single drawer—the one you avoid unless you need a quick place to shove something—can create a profound shift in your energy. The act of decluttering is, in itself, a form of meditation. As you outwardly clean and organize, your mind follows, shifting from avoidance to clarity. And then, just notice—the energy will begin pulling you toward that space. That’s why a freshly cleaned and organized kitchen makes you want to cook—because, suddenly, the energy flows there, and you intuitively want to be in it.
In our busy lives, it’s easy to put these things off for another day, but when you’re feeling stuck, drained, or in a funk, try clearing out some clutter. It’s more than just tossing old things you no longer need—you are creating space for fresh, vibrant prana to flow into your life.
The only warning I’ll give? This will become addicting. As new energy flows in, you’ll crave even more of it. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself making progress on things that once felt out of reach—all thanks to spending a few minutes clearing out some junk.

There is one simple habit you can start today that, regardless of where your mindset is right now, can instantly shift your energy and change your life.
The world feels heavy these days. There’s an undercurrent of tension and uncertainty, especially if you regularly consume news or social media. Even the stock markets—as I read this morning—are being described as "chilled." But not in the relaxed, "hey amigo, I'm chilled" kind of way. More like a frozen-in-time, stuck, and unsure kind of way.
If that resonates with you, and you’re looking for a perspective shift, I invite you to take 30 seconds each morning—before getting out of bed, before reaching for your phone, before even lifting your head off the pillow—and reflect on one simple truth: you are alive.
This is the first thing I do every morning, and I can say with certainty that it’s the best thing I do every single day. I thank God for waking me up. If you’re not looking for a perspective shift, you should try it anyway.
What If You Don’t Believe in God?
That’s okay, too—because guess what? You’re still alive. And that alone is something worth appreciating.
Instead of a prayer, simply say: "I'm so glad to be alive today." It doesn’t matter what you believe about the source of life—this is about having reverence for the simple miracle of existence. Starting your day with gratitude makes everything else that happens a cherry on top of an already delicious ice cream sundae.
Why This Works: The Energy of Gratitude
Life can be hard. Every day brings unique challenges—traffic, disagreements, illness, loss. But if you are faced with these challenges, it means you were lucky enough to wake up today to experience them.
From an energetic perspective, gratitude is one of the fastest ways to raise your vibrational frequency. As Master Choa Kok Sui teaches, prana follows thought—wherever your attention goes, energy flows. When you begin your day with appreciation, you set the tone for prana to flow into every part of your life.
Here’s what happens when you do this daily:
A Gift Worth Acknowledging
All experiences—even the hard ones—are gifts. If your life were to end tomorrow, you would suddenly see, from beyond this physical world, just how precious every moment was.
The least we can do when we are given another sunrise, another breath, another chance to experience life—is to simply say, "Thank you."

You will never NOT experience difficult emotions, but with practice you don't have to succumb to them. Difficult emotions such as fear, sadness, and anger are forms of negative energy. Negative energy is not necessarily a "bad" thing, as we all are faced with it every day, but it is not as enjoyable as positive energies like courage, gratitude, and love. When we start to see all emotions as powerless over us, and a choice, we can always choose the ones that are healthier, more pleasurable, and more uplifting rather than be a victim to those that keep us down and out.
Take fear for example. Fear is really at the core of every difficult emotion. Fear of death, fear of sickness, fear of change, fear of not being good enough are just a few examples of how fear invades our life. When you feel something like fear, we have the power to examine what is happening rather than just accept fear as part of our life. Rather than allowing fear to direct your words, actions, and thoughts, reflect upon the fear and ask yourself what this fear is trying to teach you. If it's a fear of death, perhaps it's a message that you need more connection and understanding of life so that you don't fear death. If it's a fear of change, perhaps there's a lesson that you need to learn about trust and faith in what life has in store for you so that you welcome it. If it's a fear of not being good enough, perhaps there is a lesson waiting for you in how you judge others or yourself, so that you see yourself and others as uniquely perfect.
If you are used to living with fear, or just experience a lot of fear and aren't sure why, it's important to have compassion for yourself. You are not broken, you are human. Fear is designed to be a life saving mechanism in its purest form. It is the response by our nervous system that helps us to get into fight or flight. However, it can become addictive or even normal if you experience it enough and start to believe that you are in an unsafe or unfair world. The trick is to have the courage to experiment with something new, to want something better. When we are dissatisfied enough with something, we will change it. We are all winning at the game that we are playing.
Outwardly, fear does not make you a better person. It doesn't make you more compassionate, empathetic, or loving. You can be all of those things still, but from a place of higher vibration like love, inspiration, and courage. Think about it, if you are trying to support someone going through something difficult, is it more likely that they will turn a corner for the better if you amplify all of their fears, or if you shine brightly in what is possible without fear?
Fear is a choice. Negative emotions are a choice. Choosing to transmute them into something more joyous and positive does not make you non-human or uncaring. Instead, it allows you to feel the emotion, albeit briefly, and choose to live your life from a different, more pleasurable place.
